Wiring two subs together with different ohms??

Recommended Posts

So I have two si sql-15 subs one dual 2 ohm one dual 4 ohm.  I have a crown xls 2002 that can do 4 ohms mono min. So I want to wire these in 6 ohm.  Is there any real problems with this idea?  Also why does 12volt.com say it will either be 12 ohm or 2.7 ohm? Seems to me it should be 6 ohms or 2.7.

There is no way you can wire together two subs of different impedance that each will receive the same power, you can only exchange one of the subs so that both have the same impedance.

In your case that the amp is stereo you could just balance to power match but it would not be optimal.

Si does not have any more dual 2 ohm and i have had my first sub for like 6 months so there not taking anything back. Also These subs can handle 1000 rms each.  They should be in there range.  Are u saying that the wattage would want to go to the lower ohm driver first? How would that work?
