I know right. You were do 140s in your Altima with a pair of RF P3 10s in an oversized box with too little port tuned to 32hz and only 1,000watts.

its all relative and matters at what frequency also

id rather hit 145 at 30hz then 50hz

I was hitting a 142.5.... at 41 hz.

If you build it, db's will come...

NSPL World Record Holder Trunk 0-1800 watts---147.9 with 1722 clamped watts @ 40Hz(9-20-09).

140 dbs is easy to get in the right install team lutz is a damn good 139.9 bass racer with 1 12 in the trunk

and to do that you have to be able to play 143 db's on music!!!

its anything after that.... it gets harder and harder untill your only gainin tenths of db at a time

Michael has had 2 solo X 12's in the car for a while now. He also recently added 2 more amps to his install. At svr last weekend he managed a 147.1, which is a helluva score out of a 4 door Escort. I know because I have one too, and they're really hard cars to get loud.

Well its a small hatch car.

How do I find the resonant freq of the car and do I tune my box sock on to that or slightyly lower?

Should I stick to manufacturers reccomended enclosure size for the subs?

What tips can anyone suggest for building a box? Im thinking for a couple of tens, should I use 1" material and internally brace it, round off all corners etc, will fibreglassing the interior help in anyway? Should I make the baffle board even thicker and which is the best place to aim the subs and port, up, back etc etc

It's ridiculously easy. We did 140 and some with a shagged out Kicker comp VR 10" off less than 1000w in a 4 door hatch back off stock battery etc etc and the box wasn't anything special now that I look at it.

Playing in a CRX is a different ballgame altogether though :)

143dB off less than 700w anyone? :)

lol, um.... 143.1 wit 3 12" Insigina fubars on a single JL Audio A1800 amp. i think each sub was getting around like 300 watts. haha.

i did a 135.8 in a trunk car with 1 12" off bout 600w so cant be to hard in a hatch.

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-P4050UB

Subs: 2 Pioneer Premier 12" ts-w3004spls

Sub box: 3.2ft3 tuned to 35hz

Sub Amp: SoundMagus DK 1800

Speaker Amp: Rockford Fosgate 200a4 Bridged to fronts

Front Speakers: DLS MS5A components

A couple hz lower than Resonant frequency.
