Team Sundown's Charles
Ok if more cone area means more DB's why would 2 12" DC Lvl 4 be louder then 2 12" L7. The Kicker have more cone area then a standard 12 so shouldn't they be louder? I'm not tring to start anything between Kicker and DC but I'm planning a new setup tp compete in NSPL and the class i'm in says no more then 24" of woofers. So i'm tring to be at the max limit of that class. And I can get both the Lvl4's and the L7 for about the same price. I really don't know what would get the loudest. They would be pushed by a Kicker zx1500.1(until the sundown 2k comes out). So with all other things being equal (same box/power) would the extra cone area mean more DB's? Team Sundown's Charles
http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=23169 That was alittle help but I don't understand is why everyone belives that Lvl4's are going to be louder then the L7's ? If I go base on the cone area then the L7's should be louder. They both have specs that are very similar and both have about the same power handling. So i am just looking at a personal choice? Kicker Guy
Box and car has a lot to do with how loud something gets. Subs are only a piece of the puzzle. I haven't used any DC products so I can't really say which would be louder. quakecitystudio
I would say that if the specs are the same, or really similar, then I would also go with which box design works best for a hatchback car Quote Bass Music Producer • Photographer • Graphic Designer -------------- Deep Sector Boom... BigPimpin91
You can't just do cone area. Yeah it's nice but it's not the whole thing. Box, Car, Motor Force, Electrical, Excursion, and effective cone area. Quote BigPimpin91's Banging Music
