Guest Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Friends system consists of a Jensen DVD Player headunit, Memphis amp (i think the 1100D), and 2 Kenwood subs. When he starts his car, you hear his engine really loudly through the subs. I was thinking it was just a bad ground, what could be the real problem? edit: oh, and his amp makes a small whine noise too when you put your ear close to it
mrwigglezdj Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 needs a cheap noise filter on there , can be had at walmart, and to double check the grounds , make sure its bare metal ect. i personaly dont buy into the rca on the same side as the power bit, since all my rca and power wires are ontop eachother and i have no problem Americas loudest work van2006 iasca heavyweight bassboxing champion at 150.4 db with 60second average TL8 memphis PR15s,12 memphis PR6.5's coax,4 memphis PR 1inch tweets

Guest Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 its an early 90's Honda Accord. He had this "guy" install his system for him. I told him he could pay me an honest $20-30 to scout out and fix the problem. I told him it could've been a sh*t grounding. If the amp itself, like a footing or something was touching metal, how would that matter...? edit: oh, and when you open the seat divider for the rear seats, the amp is like right there lol, so i would need to take the sub box out and find where the hell the amp is behind it.
