B Slaps Posted June 27, 2008 Report Share Posted June 27, 2008 yes it is 8ga but only 6inches of it never do this. that amp is starving for power pulling hella current thru bigger wire only to get cut in half and thats probably the reason it gets so hot overworking to get current. Dude theres no point in using 2 gauge if ur just gonna cut it in half, even 6 inches... and find a better ground, even if it is just the chasis the seat belt ground is usually one of the worst places to put a ground wire...
