groundpounder2k2
at the back.......it was cut out for the tires.....but the cuts were way off from side to side....so im going to clean them up heres a pic from the beginning of the thread....look at the chopped up cutouts for the wheels So I begin with drawing out some cut lines....measuring everything off....Center all the areas that were cracked.....well they are NOT breaking again...with all the repair work done to the inside...But Im going to grind them down and do a couple layers on the outside as well....Because i loke to take those extra precautions Not enjoying......grinding glass @ 90 degrees all trimmed up and symmetrical from side to side.....Just the way i like it....but you can see in the upper right corner.....i need to add some glass My MainMan,My lil Man,Dude,Bubb....My son Memphis @ 3years OldShow'em that car son.......... techaninna
Great work.... Your threads are the reason I did my last build (mold of my midgate). Until I tried it I had no clue how much work was really involved in glassing. Again great work Rebuild coming soon
LSN2meBoom916
well Chris....a box of 24 usually lasts me over a year....if i squeeze the resin out of the brush after im done ....and submerges it in Acetone....I can use the same brush about 40 times... Anal, smart, just wow...I do the squeeze & acetone soak too, but not thoroughly enough to get 40 damn uses...maybe 5-8 at best...you think maybe it's partly cuz I use the junky-bondo brand stuff too? or just being too lazy to get more of it squeezed out b4 I soak? It really is alot of work Patrick....alot of work....to do it "what i consider" the right way....the previous work on this thing is some really shitty work....and i feel if i dont get all that garbage out of there ...its just gonna break again...there is an unbelievable amount of ....just straight resin pools..on the inside of this ol bitch... So you're saying it basically looked I had built it originally? I don't think there are machines out there with your patience/ability/determination/skill to do it as right you do Tim.this thing is gonna be pretty solid. good thing is you dont have to sand all that in there I would really doubt with as much prep work and clean layup as Tim does, he would have much to do on the exterior either.Sorry I'm late to the party, but it's lookin great Tim. Nice and solid as you always bring it, and much nicer on the line cleanup-hopefully he notices/understands/appreciates what he's getting out of you.
