Question About Mounting A Sub

looks mostly... if you need an extra .2cuft and 2-3hz tuning rise it helps

some motors look like a piece of art so people invert them...

some think it cools the motor better but you run the risk of hearing mechanical noises you wouldnt normaly hear cause the box would filter it out

ive done both... didnt notice any mechanical noise for my re se and i did use it for increase box size so... there are a few reasons too

and thats what the phase shift is for on an amp...

I know when I built a pair of 'slog box' woofers (4 eighteens in a vented box, seperate chambers, internal amplification) for a PA rig, we inverted the drivers to allow cooler air flow into the coil structure. You just slam sloggers for low frequency effects like cannon booms and car crashes, and the interior of the box would get mighty hot with a power amplifier mounted and a large high power woofer going off it's rocker.

Cheers,

Mick

How does that RE sound in that box? I actually have the same box but never used it cause it looks too small.

They also invert mount them so noobs can ask dumb questions like this one.

Like you have never had one right?

Mainly for looks. If I had like a RE XXX or something I would do it because the motor looks sexy.

I think reverse mounting has it's situations where it's good, just like regular mounting.

Just not if you're trying to put them behind the seat in a singlecab... ^_^
