Guest aseanj52 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 What do y'all think about them? My friend wants 1 for highs and 2 for bass. But idk what to tell him about them, i have't had any experience with them. Except hearing one in my friends truck pushing 6 Bose speakers, and 4 JBL 8's.
honda Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 ARe u talking bout the PDX alpine amps line up? Well i heard that they are pretty good but they get really really warm. I actually got to experience that myself from a local audio store and they feel really warm and thats indoors. Imagine if they were in a car during a hot summer day. But i guess thats normal for those amps. The good thing about them is they deliver the same power in 4ohms or 2ohms. Guest aseanj52 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I'm thinking in the test where it got cooler they were not pushing it hard. Like most people do.
The Performer Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I like them when it comes to the 4 channel and the mono 600 watt version. I played with them at AudioVideo around when I was getting my alarm setup, the 600w version did really decent considering it's size. Mainly with the 4 channel version it's all about size. Such a good power output for your mids and highs in such a small package is a great thing. There's also the 1000 watt mono block version, but personally that just seems too much responsibility for such a small amp. Only downside is these amps are quite costly. Although I feel like alpine is a very reputable brand, you cant go wrong with them for an everyday bass system, but for a high power setup there's other options to look into. CERTIFIED BITCHES!!!
