This was the difficult part.. the whole idea of building the plate myself was to save money, a few shops wanted close to $700 just to cut off the excess with a waterjet. So I had to use some good ol'fashion grinding and hacking. Take a micrometer and make sure it is still the exact same thickness all the way around. It should still be flat since it is 1/2" aluminum , but make sure it is cause if it warped in any way it will give you clutch problems later on... 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread. fourlug Posted July 21, 2008 Author Report Posted July 21, 2008 Well the QSD H2B is out of 1/2 aluminum and has been used in many projects, I'm sure it wont be a problem... (crosses fingers) It actually only took 3-4 days to finish the plate and saved alot of cash, more pics to come!
fourlug Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 The candidate for my h2b was a crx, I had an h22a swapped ef hatch the year before but it didn't quite cut it. So I picked up a 90 crx last Halloween for $350.. rusty but easily fixable. The d15 it had barely ran and smoked like a bitch, so I swapped in a junkyard d16a6 and used the old dpfi manifold so I could drive it around for the winter. Believe it or not, a friend and I drove the crx in the middle of December, with the junkyard engine, all the way down to Houston Tx and back, to buy a car that we later imported into Alberta. But anywho, here 's the beast... His friends was me lol, we drove from calgary to houston and back in 6 days and bought a 01 accord (imported it and sold it) Replacing a few things Lookin better After he drove it for most the winter and bought another dd we started to rip it apart Since I originally wanted an Si for obvious reasons, I couldn't resist when I lopped this off at the junker for $25bucks (Call me retarded for doing this, I don't care.. but you cant have a crx without a sunroof, its just not the same feeling) I hated not having one for summer driving, its horrible. Canadian rust = body work!

When I saw these doors and sunroof on a mint 91 rex i had to grab em. $100bucks Parts! This is how we warm the garage thats -30 degrees Soon to paint! Many many many more pics to come!

EricR Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 very nice man. you're only 18 and doing shit like this.....you got a really good start. keep the pics coming ! edit...what exactly does the adapter plate do or what is its purpose? i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
