PokerBlakeB
Im in the process of building ported box for 2 15" l7s and my dimensions would be 36 L x 16 1/2 H x 16 1/2 depth. What would be best sealed or port for this box?
mazdaspl
I think sealed would be better.
PokerBlakeB
why sealed?
LSN2meBoom916
Well....as long as those are INTERNAL dimensions....ur lookin at 5.671875cft....that's 2.8359375cft per sub... not really enough for a ported setup w/ 2 woofers...maybe 1 ported.....so I'd say sealed as well....that and I actually prefer the sound of sealed boxes. So +1 sealed. Decaf
sealed, l7s sound surprisingly good in 3cuft sealed
PokerBlakeB
so would 1 15" L7 ported box slam harder than 2 15" L7s in sealed box?
LSN2meBoom916
Not likely... but too many variables to say yes/no for sure either way. Try it homie...& take pix along the way. PokerBlakeB
What if i made two seperate ported boxes for each 15" sub. Would that work?
Forevrbumpn
you would be suprised how small you can go with 2 subs coupled in a ported box. had 2-12"s in about 1.75cf ported, tuned to 38hz... The port was small, only 1" wide, and as tall as the box, so it ended up being about 1"x13.5" 17" long And in that box, since the airspace was so little, it had sealed sound, wth ported effeciency the subs never blew when I had them, and still are out there hitting hard somewhere, with no complaints And the dimensions were like 32x13.5 x13.5 if I remember right edit: Iam sure the port was 13.5 tall, so the box had to be 15" tall Edited August 2, 2008 by Forevrbumpn Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. PokerBlakeB
the frame of the box would be 36" Length x 16.5" Height x 16.5" Depth with a 3" vent in the middle. How deep should the vent be?
