how much you think they would charge for a box for two of them beasts...I love car audio, want to make a side living at it one day...not cut corners as you put it...but my budget is limited..I can spend around 110 you know? think that's enough for a box from them? that will...pound

when built it should have around 7 cubes total? since the L port takes alot of the cubes away..that will give both of them 3.5 a piece...just above the minimum requirement but damn..this box will still be huge...I think kicker meant 3 cubes a piece not counting the port as cubes...

Someone fill me in on how that works cause it really sucks, you get a massive box and turns out to have no cubes you know...this will take up the trunk of my jeep, and it ain't that small....at all...

anyways...I also got a new drill with liquid nails

soon I'll have to go buy some dowel rods, probably two to support the insides...it's gonna be face up ports up...speakers in the middle...I can't guarantee a boatload of pics as I build the box but I'll get some...

The liquid nails is a bad choice, if you haven't used them yet, I'd go swap that out for a big bottle of plain wood glue and some dry wall screws.

I noticed in the earlier post's you were saying that you couldn't use screws on mdf. That's false, the rule is you MUST pre-drill EVERY hole with mdf.

What's the thickness of that MDF? For 3/4 I would use 1 1/2" drywall screws, and so on depending on how thick the wood. Depending on if you want a nice finish, countersink the screws as well. Just buy a countersinking drill bit, and set the drill bit part a tad deeper than the screw will actually go when you pre-drill. Make sure the drill bit is a tad smaller than the screw threads, but not too small or you can still split the wood.

Also, if you're not too comfortable with your drill's clutch, don't use it to put the srews in. Use a plain old screwdriver and feel out how much to tighten them. Put a healthy bead of glue on first, put the screw in and tighten until the glue oozes out, then STOP. That's as tight as you want them. Follow what I said and I promise you won't split the wood. I've been using screws on EVERY enclosure I've built, ranging from wood thickness of 3/4", to even 1/2" and will continue to use them because I'm a firm believer that glue+screws=ultimate bond. Another nice thing about using screws is you don't usually need to worry about big bulky clamps.
