Chode69 Posted August 4, 2008 Report Share Posted August 4, 2008 sounds like you got your gains set too high and your bass EQs up. because your music will keep going up til it peaks and you want to find that sweet spot where the bass and music peaks together so they stay "balanced" it doesnt sound as loud because your subs are reaching their peak and the music is still raising so its not cancelling pursey but its like a give and take kind of deal. its like an optical illusion to your ears. your hearing the music go up and not your bass. Like I said any deck useing the loud button will give you a shit load of boost until the half way mark.....so set up your shit with the loud off!! Thanks for the info, would replacing the amp/speakers help this? i wouldnt change a thing but your eq and gain settings...like i said try to "balance" them i used to crank my systems gains and eqs so that on volume 10 i was at full blast with the subs and NO music was coming out. i always wondered why when i turned it up i could hear the words but the bass wasnt any louder. not i know...try matching everything up...damn i keep repeating myself but i dont feel like going back and editing my shit haha WOOO HOO moderator merge power FTW!!! jcm1689 Posted August 5, 2008 Report Share Posted August 5, 2008 ive had the same problem with some of the pioneers that ive used. the bass seems to get really loud at low volumes and then kinda stops getting louder. i checked mine for cliping with and oscope and they werent but its just how the deck was set up. its seems louder lower cuz they highs arent as loud. as they get higher it seems like the bass is getting lower. have you ever tried playing your subs with out the highs? its seemes really loud cuz thats all you hear. its pretty much the same effect but opposite. turn the bass all the way down set the deck to listening level and then adjust it from there Quote R.I.P.
