Opinions On The Xx-colossus Ii

What are you guys thoughts on the XX Colossus II (note: note the big long 40"+ amp...the one before the one thats out now)? Got a chance to buy 2 for a steal to power my 2 dual 1ohm BTL 12s

I've heard good things about the XX line of Hifonics. The amps aren't over-rated at all. And I think they are rated at 12.5 volts, I might be wrong on that though.

just a tad under ratted but not rated @ 12.5v more like 14-14.4v....any other opinions?

I ran the xx-colossus, the long one, loved it one of my favorite amps.. I dunno about the new ones though, friend tried his and I was less than impressed powering a single 9515

these are the two amps.....same guy I bought the subs from too. Wasnt as loud as it can go either

arnt these the xx colossus that ran the 2 boards in one heatsink some had problems with blowing up?

Just thought Ive read that more then a few times.

mine blew up...literally, a soda can sized hole in the mainboard while wife was bumping it.

not trying to be funny but read.....i clearly stated which ones they were. Not the long one ur talking about. They have made 2 models since that 40" Colossus was discontinued
