well, i guess tthats kinda true, but lying on the mic may sound good to some people, but for people who know your lying they are more like STFU... then listening to your music. and another thing... don't catch feelings... im just saying the truth... its not my fault that Nas doesn't do what he raps about when it comes to street creditability... you do do know that there label mates, right? they also happen to release albums at the same time during 2006 and its safe to say that the album sales is a fair "measuring stick" when it come to popularity. so its fair to say alot of people think the same way ;)

Well... i didnt know we were talking about how gangster jeezy was compared to nas... not how talented a rapper they are... whatever i really dont feel like arguing with someone over the internet about rappers.

Hip-Hop is Dead album was whack.. his new album is wayyy better

I wouldnt say thats a fair measuring stick.. I mean look at Lil Wayne's record sales.. how many are females? :D not sexist or anything but Im guessing about 70% of his record sales are females lol Lil Wayne=OVERRATED :D

...oops lil off topic lol

and by the way, that wasnt the point i was trying to make... about those albums, what i was trying to say is that both dropped during the "decline of cds" era (which is obviously still happening today)... and Jeezy still managed to sell a million copies. It was the ladies buying his albums... it was the wealthy/middle class suburbs kids buyin his album, when the can just go on limewire and download it for free... it was the same streets Jeezy didnt turn his back on that supporting him... he didnt sell out when he was trying to get a deal, even though he was affiliated w/ some REAL gangsta, not some fictional character that Nas would make up, when he rappin about shit he never did or lived

not at all, but your gonna tell me that a story teller in Nas, who can rap pretty good has more meaning behind his lyrics... when he basically lies on the track to come off as somebody that he not. but the person who kept it 100 his whole life even into the music industry doesn't have good content... i mean its really just w/e, and its not a big deal. at the end of the day its just ur opinion versus mine. thx for helping me get my post up, while talking about something i feel passionately about.

btw... sorry it i offend ne one, or got on their badside, but i was just stating what really gud :P

Your opinion is just that---Your opinion. So there is no reason why anyone should be offended. We can't expect everyone to agree. Anyways this thread got a lil bit of topic it was suppose to be about Jeezy's new single not a comparison between two rappers.

He NEVER EVER EVER did anything he raps about (which discredits alot of the meaning of what he say... atleast to me). he never busted a gun, he has no homies in the FED'S... he was a good kid grown up in a bad area, and is only rapping about what he saw... he never lived any of that... so when hear jeezy, and he says some clever shit, that you know he did, w/ mad swag on the track... it carries much more weight lyrically, then anything these "pretend gangtas" say. that does not mean that their not good rappers. but its hard to resect someone talking about shit they didnt do... ya feel me...

I jus reread all that you contradicted yourself majorly... How come you said he raps about what he saw and never lived it? hows that possible?

i only basically listen to jeezy for beats, every now and then he says somethign that makes me laugh but lyrically imo he sucks ass. Ive never liked NAS at all so i cant really comment on him as the only lyrical stuff i really like is the Clan
