bangin_explorer Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 i would say go with level 4's. ive owned both and i would personally choose the level 4's over the sx's. they sound better and have more output capabilities.. now ive never owned 18" of either, but i have owned 12" & 15" SX's, and also 15" Level 4's. and i would choose level 4 before i went with SX's again.. my .02 ....................................................... Decaf Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 sx has higher sensitivty (but it doesnt say if at 2.83v or 1v) sx has bl of 21 vs 16 for dc sx has higher fs (33hz) so it would prolly sound fantastic in box tuned to 32-33hz sx has more sd which equates to more sub moving at once dc is know to take more power than 1000... closer to 1500 dc can be tuned lower i believe and sound good (fs of 28) similar box requirements altho it all comes down to install/preference.... u might be happier with lvl4 as it is a bit more musical sx can put out some decent numbers too for only taking 1000w
