99vic Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Share Posted August 15, 2008 np in the future check stuff for your own protection even if steve meade himself sold it to you shit happensthats where im lost he told me when i bought it it was at 1.9 ohms when i test the sub the way he had it, it read 1.8 ohms same as his reading but when i test them separately thats when the reading is way off. the sub played fine from the day david hooked it up until monday when it got hot on me. but everything has been the same. Mines Birthsheet says 2255 at 1ohm at 13v. It has been clamped and did 2752 at .5 at 13v I have seen, i think in this forum, that people sending thier MX's 2500 RMS were getting them hot and smelly. Add 250 to that and you got what your amp might have been putting to the sub. looks like the amp can handle the .5 ohm load but the sub cant take the power.
