Sampsonite Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Well, I grounded my engine to my chasis, and now I have a ground loop. I can hear engine RMPs in my speakers. Anybody else have this problem? Do you think I should just ground it somewhere else? Quote --Sampson 816-591-6592 www.kcrimshop.com
eaglescorpio1 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 yeah, me. don't know exactly when it came about because I had the guys at max speed and sound install all my shite at once. But it was after they did the big3, put the 2000 watt amp in, and the second battery and the 2 15's. LOL!!!! Did you grind or sand away the paint to make a very clean connection? I don't think mine is cause of the ground loop. My power cables and my rca's are ran on the same side of the vehicle. I need to move the rca's to the other side of the vehicle and say f*ck the pioneer(shitty pioneer) and get me an excelon. I think that is my problem. And if not, I will go "huntin". eaglescorpio1 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 You could try grounding it somewhere else, but from what I understand, it shouldn't induce noise into the system. But the noise wasn't there before, so either make sure it is a clean connection, or ground elsewhere. Quote Loud as f*ck, and sounds good doing it. Team built from here on out!!!! roscoe1129 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 You dumb shit... your lucky your my friend or I wouldve deleted this post for being in teh WRONG SECTION! So I will move it after I say this. Did you do the whole BIG 3 or just what you said? Do you have a Pioneer H/U I dont remember, but try grounding your head unit somewhere else and try grounding your RCA's.... also like Joe said make sure your power wire and RCA's arent run on the same side of the car.... and if they cross make sure its straight across!! Like a + ya know! OH YEAH... you got my # foo... USE IT!!!! eaglescorpio1 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) ^^^^ You are a trip roscoe. Funny as hell. Anyways, I have the pioneer, and I personally did try grounding the rca's. didn't work. have not tried grounding the head unit to a different spot, will try that when I re-route the rca's. Didn't think about grounding the headunit elsewhere. thx. Edited August 19, 2008 by eaglescorpio1 Quote Loud as f*ck, and sounds good doing it. Team built from here on out!!!! I had to ground my 360.2 in the burb straight to the battery to block noise.... also sam try a different ground for your amps Quote Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! eaglescorpio1 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 (edited) the noise wasn't there before he added his engine to chassis ground. He had the other two of the big 3 done already. Once he hooked that third up, the noise showed up. Does that mean it is that ground point? Or could it have made a different ground point vulnerable to noise inductance for some reason? roscoe1129 Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 did he just add to the engine to chassis ground or replace it. your only supposed to add to it not replace.
