Ranger Just Quit Out Of Nowhere

Recommended Posts

I was just driving down the road with no problems. I went over some railroads tracks that gave my truck a good shake and it just died. Nothing. It won't crank none of the electrical works. No horn, no lights, no anything. Anyone got an idea what it is, where I should check?

The first thing you should check is your inertia switch. Most of them in rangers are located on the passenger kick panel behind the carpet. It's a cylindrical switch with a red button, if it popped it will be at the top, just push it back down. This is usually caused by a hard enough jolt from a bump, dip, or train tracks like your case. It's a saftey device that opens the circuit to the fuel pump in case of an accident. These are triggered quite often though by situations like yours
