Krice420 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 hey sup guys i got 2 brand new btl 18's fully loaded. i was playin them pretty hard today going to work and everything was fine. got in the car tonite after i got off work i start to hear this sound coming from just the sub behind my head(wall). so i listen more and i can hear the sub punching and on real high songs its like a vibration noise. the other sub sounds fine and they are both running off same power they are connected together. its almost like something might be touching the cone but i doubt it. ive only been pushing them good for about a week now and the magnets are not getting hot and the coils arnt getting smelly so i have no idea what it could be. btw gains are set with dmm and have not gone past the level i set it at so minimal clipping if any. 2 18'' fi btls fully loaded 2 sundown saz 3000d 1 iraggi 200 amp alt 3 powermaster 3100d series batts 11.75 cuft wall after displacement tuned to 31.08 hz

Are they the new style BTL with integrated tinsels? if not it may be tinsel slap or it could be excess wire... Aaron813 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 Try grounding the rcas there is post somewhere on here about how to do it
Krice420 Posted September 12, 2008 Author Report Posted September 12, 2008 nahh they are the new ones so i know its not tinsel slap and i doubt its a wire but ima pull out of the box tomorrow when i have a helping hand. how could it have something to do with my rca's? my other speaker sounds fine and they are running on same signal. its kinda like when you turn up a mid with bass all the way up and you can hear it punch. im scared its blown but cant think of a reason as to why it would be and the other one is fine. 2 18'' fi btls fully loaded 2 sundown saz 3000d 1 iraggi 200 amp alt 3 powermaster 3100d series batts 11.75 cuft wall after displacement tuned to 31.08 hz
