V1G1LANT3
This box is for a 2006 kicker L7 15" 2ohm. Amp: kx1200.1 - around 1350w I believe from the birthsheet 4 ft^3 33hz - not sure if this is good, I just heard I should do between 30-35hz First I tried 2 3x6" ports and they came out entirely too long for the space I want to keep it within after a change in things in my trunk. I just played around with the carstereo.com port calculator until I came up with something I thought I could work with and thought about a single 14x2" would work good but is that too skinny. All edges will be rounded. Edited September 22, 2008 by V1G1LANT3
Decaf
rule of thumb is no ratios greather than 1:8 so 2:14=1:7 but another is 12-16sqin per cuft so 4cuft*12sqin= 48sqin minimum... ur at 28sqin bro tuning is fine... some like higher some like lower so it should be fine
Ray
I would make the boxes bigger. about 5.5cuft after for each woofer Quote 2008 California state record holder 157.2 Bassrace2009 California state record holder 157.0 BassraceRollin 50's 158.7db2009 King of Cali Bassrace2009 USACi score 160.5 @ 42hz

V1G1LANT3
Well I think I may be maxed out at about 4 ft^3. Will it sound like shit with the smaller port?...because I definitely cant do a 22" long port.

duct_tape123
Hey decaf, why shouldn't you exceed a 1:8 port ratio? Wanting to know so I don't make any mistakes designing my brothers box.
raytard
if you exceede the 1:8 ratio by much it makes port noise pretty pronounced, and with some setups the air can get over the speed of sound and make some funky shit happen. some kid at a car show had a port so tight it almost sounded like it whistled, it was so weird Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
