Gearstix
I will most likely be getting a Orion 2500D. owners manual.. http://www.orioncaraudio.com/Support/Manua...ual%2047410.pdf What kind of electrical support would be required to run it at half ohm daily? I will be upgrading the alternator... just not sure what engine is going in my truck.. Would some extra fans or something be a good idea? Quote 2005 Blazer Build... Audiobahnaholic
I'd look at a good 300 amp alt, and as big of Kinetik or Powermaster you can get under the hood, with a HC2400 or a D3100 in the back. That should be overkill actually as those amps only draw 250-275 amps full tilt. Audiobahnaholic
I didn't read that part. I honestly wouldn't recommend running it that low. My Orion's didn't like it. They played just fine but they got warmer than usual (expected) and got pretty power hungry. If possible run another HC2400 or 2. I guess I could wire it to two ohm, as I have two dual 2s, or just try and find another one.. Quote 2005 Blazer Build... Mach 5 SPL-12s, Audiopipe AP3000.1D.. Audiobahnaholic
It will run at .5 just make sure you've got the electrical but if you can afford it I'd sell it and run a pair of http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7559_O...CCA-D2400.html# strapped at 2ohm. it will show you your 2400 watts and you will be looking at 230-240 amps of draw. n8ball2013
these things pull over 400 amps of current at .5 just so you know. I had a 260 amp iraggi and two yellow tops and big three done and got major dimming still. They do serious power but you are going to need a ton of juice for it.
