should i do 2 subs per chamber or all 4 in a huge ported box?

if u do all foor in the same chamber add dividers the depth of the sub so the subs dont work on each other. if u r gunna do dual chambers then same answer. ive been doing audio for 10 years and i rarely c ppl usingone chamber for 4 subs in a wall, that being said id go for one chanbers for each pair of subs. and make sure u reinforce the box.

edit: also i fail to see how if you do a single chamber, the woofers are going to work against each other. i dont see how this is possible when theyre all moving exactly the same.

I rarely see people dividing the box into separate chambers. A single common chamber is the trend nowadays. The subs don't "work against each other", but you do have to make sure that you have the subs installed in a fashion that doesn't cause weird loading issues.

first of all my bad. didnt c how outta date the thread was, second ive never built a wall but thinking about it for my blazer, 3 the only reason i said nething bout a divider between the subs is cuz thats excatly wat steve said bout his divider when he built the wall in his honda. so excuse me for makin a couple mistakes. ive been doing audio for 10 years and cuz noone ever ask me to build a ported box for them im just now getting into it. ive built sealed boxes since i started, but now ppl r telling me that in order to get the numbers that i want outta my set up i need a ported box so im trying to learn and help out in any way i can with someone elses build, like i do with everybody around me. one more note, like i told another member, im like the steve meade of my club and of my area when it comes to install's bcuz my blazer hit harder then anybodies system that hung out with me. later

o btw one more thing i did not say the subs would work against each other i said that they would work on each other. in other words with a divider, if u blow one sub its easier to figure out which one is blown then if u have no divider, without taking the subs outta the box. that has worked for me n the past.

Common chamber enclosures have been known to be louder. The subs can work against each other if one sub is unloading massively or is seeing less power than the others. Even with one sub unloading common chamber tends to be louder. Just because it's the same concept, clam shell walls and tunnel walls do not cancel out either, the waves combine to be more power full. Single port systems usually meter louder than multiple as well, that is if it's the same type port. SQ boxes I have always done separate chambers mostly so I can make sure the size is exact and that the waves are not mixing and becoming muddy.
