chrisdwnng
I have a 1998 oldsmobile with the 3.1 V6. We are in the process of rebuilding the motor and ran into a bit of a problem. There is a sensor that we put on the backside of the motor(toward the firewall) and we believe it should be placed on the front side of the engine. just wondering if anyone knew anything about that. chrisdwnng
I have the haynes manual but it doesn't really give pictures of the block on the placement of the sensor. We had to take the motor out and rebuild it and it has been a few months since the last time i worked on it. I can't really remember the name of the sensor sorry
Pokey
After thinking about it some today....it could be a knock sensor. Check the manual for it's placement and let me know. Other than that, I can't think of anything that it could be. I don't know newer motors very well, but that's all I can think of for yours. Hope it helps man.
