reinke Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 right now my box is 3.1 cubes after all displacement tuned to 38 or 40 i cant remember with 36 sq. inches of port. when i build my new box for 2 15 i want to have 6.2 cubes tuned to 38 or 40. but, do i just double the port area or leave it at 36. ----reference's---- meade916

V1G1LANT3 Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I heard to do 12-16 sq inches of port per cu ft of space. You are pretty much right at the minimum with the 3.1 cu ft box.
Nightshade Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Harley, keep it exactly where you have it. Right now where you're at you have 12sqin per cuft. That's about as perfect as it gets imo. Just double the enclosure size and double the port area. I would however use aeroports for your next build. Three 4" aeros per sub will work out perfect for your setup. It may be kind of hard to get 6 4" aero's on the side of your box, but if that's the case you may have to fire them up. You will be at least a db louder with aeros over a slot. Right now how your box sits it is almost the same as mine. I have 4 total cuft with 50.24sqin of port. That comes out to be 12.56sqin per cuft. You have 11.61sqin per cuft. You'll be absolutely fine where your at.
