right now I have 300 dollars, that is enough for a 360 pro without any games, or a 360 arcade with a game or two. Which version do you guys think I should buy?

Okay, is the Arcade less likely to overheat since it does not have a hard drive? Does the Pro have the Falcon chip?

Yes and yes. You play online with the arcade but you need a gold membership. I got a 20GB hdd and 3 month of the gold membership from Microsoft. I really just needed the hdd for downloading demos.

get the pro. i don't like any of the arcade games and i believe a hard drive is necessary if you play as much as me.
