Memphisman
i am looking to make a new box, i have the wood and everything to make it, i just have decided on a design i have a bit of a debate though i will be running 2 memphis pr 12's are roughly 300 rms i am going to put them in a ported box. would it sound best in a rectangular ported box? or something that is rectangular but also on the top is angled? i am looking more for the bass, not so much on the sound quality, or whats a better design for ported box, but with keeping it simple

Memphisman
yah i wanted to port to the back, and subs up, but like a rectangular shape, or do a rectangle with an angle from center of the top to the center of one of the sides

RamenNoodles
seems like a lot of space for 300 rms woofers... But subs up port up is best in SUVS. Keep it simple. Simple = loud. Memphisman
the 2.5 cu per sub is what Memphis says is optimum for that speaker, so thats what i am going to do, so i should port up? instead of just to the back? what amount of cu ft would u recommend? i am new to ported boxes, and memphis said tune for 40 hz, does that sound about right? RamenNoodles
Still seems too damn big for one 12 with that little bit of power. My BTL 12" in in about 2.6 cubes after displacement... You might want to tune it lower if you are looking for a more pronounced lower end bass. You will hit the highs no problem but you will snag the low better if you take it to about the mid 30's Quote Diablo Audio Technologies Fi Car Audio Ascendant Audio
