littleitaly1990 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I'm sure in short bursts they will be just fine, but I would be pretty conservative for any long term usage with that power. Still will be nasty as fawk, can't wait to see that build. A vitrolic, megalomaniacal sadistic psychopath.
00sdime00 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I get all my copper buss from Storm Copper. They have a nice Ampacity table that makes size selection very easy. Keep in mind that the rates are dependent on what temperature rise you're looking for......but, when selecting a buss bar bigger is usually better up to a certain point. http://www.stormcopper.com/design/Buss-Bar-Ampacities.htm A half-wit gave you a piece of his mind, and you held on to it. My Youtube vids...enjoy anythings possible with the right build =] we accept visa and mastercard =]
Andrew2944r Posted November 27, 2008 Author Report Posted November 27, 2008 So if im running 4 Alts and the highest output Alt was say 400 amps that would be the size I would go with from the ampacity table? Team Ampere Audio
jmitch Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 tbh the calulation for that is like on the level of Einsten thinking that shit is hard to understand i would just use my own judgement about that as long as its not small I know a lil about everything so dont call me Mr. Know it All.
dmanson Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 that's a lot of power man. you'll definitely need 3 or 4 alternators or a crap load of batteries to hold everything. i'd say two batteries for each amp (D3100 or KHC2400) ... i can't wait to see this build man ... bring it!!! 2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s 1-DC 5K amp (1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR) 3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.
