kdeezy
I bought a component system that was supose to handle 200 watts rms each (tweet, mid), i put 100 watts to the them and 10 min later up in smoke went the tweeters; mids were fine. I sent them back on warranty and recieved a new set same result. i changed out the tweeters and blew them to. I'm running 2 18" dc audio lvl 4's w/lvl 5 coils so i need sugguestions on component set in the $75 - $200 dollar range that sound good but can also take 100 watts or more constantly;
Nightshade
The new Alpine Type X comps are pure sonic bliss. I've never heard a component set sound so natural and life like. I'm sure the top of the line Alpine F1 amp that was powering them had a little something to do with it, but none the less they are phenominal. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

cunokyle
The Phoenix Gold RSd mids/highs can handle a bit of power. I believe they are rated up to 150rms. Plus, they sound amazing! The woofers might suck all the air out your lungs (if you stand too close) When the monster hums

Mine are sitting in a box. Got a trip coming up and should be working on them when I come home.
