Sealed Subs

im lookin for soe subs for a sealed box i havent had a sealed sub box in years and was looking for some suggestions im either doing 4 12's or 8 10's im looking at running 300-500 watts per sub depending on which setup i decide to go with and have .25 to .75 ft3 more or less depending on setup.......thanks for any intput oh and and this is going behind the seat of an 06 dodge megacab diesel

I'm a big Kicker fan. The CompVRs might work out well for you. Kicker was all about the sealed box sub back in the day.

Minimum sealed for a 10 is .8 cubes and 400 watts RMS. These I have never used but I have used the CompVR.

Just curious about a coiuple of things....

If you have a Megacab, why is your space limited ??? Don't tell me you still have those worthless seats back there ? I mean, nobody ever seems to use those anyway... It's always like > "Well just in case I...... " Yea' okay.

Anyway, if your space really is that limited, I think I'd rather go with six 10"s, or even four, that had enough space, than to try to squeeze them into a space that is just not large enough.

When these speaker companies say, "Our sub will work in a box > as small as < X feet cubed" they are not saying they will sound best this way. Fact is, any speaker will > work < in .1 cubes.... or even no box at all..... Oh granted, it would sound downright terrible.

I'd be looking at the "optimum" cubes for a particular sub (and for my particular goals, which might be, really loud, really deep, or really tight and clean) then I'd go with few enough, and small enough subs, that they ended up being in the perfect sized enclosure. Just some food for thought.

PS, And if I had to go with less or smaller subs to be able to go ported, instead of sealed, I'd do that too.

my.02, the cvts work but dont get low or loud, its like a bad knockoff of a cvr, and they blow pretty easily all things considered...they sound kinda like poop

rockford slims werent that impressive either, id say do anything it takes to get conventional subs in there, and check out boston g1/g2/g3, they work in ridiculously small boxes

i was wanting to try something different ive almost always had ported boxes i heard a friends system the other day and the bass wasnt as low but the music sounded really good and the bass was tighter

right now i have a single fi bl 12 in 2.5 ft3 @ 33hz and am not to happy with it

i have about 7 ft3 last time i measured if im not mistaken but ill say 6ft3 to be safe
