Mellow18
If it was like that then maybe it wasn't impedance... but check. maybe i should just have the 2 subs in parallel instead of 3? im new to car audio... i used to have 1 shit amp to each sub for a long time and no problems..accept for the shitty quality =) so it wasnt that i wired wrong...or that i bridged? Boon
We need to know exactly how you wired it. If you have 2 subs in parallel your amp will still explode. That's 1 ohm, bridging gives you half an ohm per channel and lots of bad smelling smoke. Your amps can only take 2 ohms per channel or 4 ohms when bridged. Quote 10.x volts fo' life! duct_tape123
Wire like option #2. 4 ohms bridged should work good, just under powered big time! Mellow18
i wired all 3 like in the parallel diagram.but i took out 1 sub and now theres 2 subs parallel this is how i have the sub wired http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...p;woofer_imp=4# what if i wired the subs this way?would it be too much for the amp? http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...e&_imp=6 Quote 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe

Guest
you would lose power actually if you wired it at 3 ohms, but not alot
Mellow18
you would lose power actually if you wired it at 3 ohms, but not alot the 3 speaker 2.67 ohm load worked well on the lower amp untill i put the bigger amp in and the amp messed up.. some one tells me that the bigger amp looked like its been wet in the past and that it is dirty inside. i had the speakers set up the same way on the smaller amp ((2400.2)) for a while n it did not mess up.... http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...e&_imp=5 Quote 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS chrome 20'' (1) Alpine i-9881 deck-ipod- (2) DC lvl 4XL 18''s-Walled- (1) DAT Hellfire - 2500.1-fused- (1) D3400 XS Power battery-fused- (2) CDT 6.5 comp (X) pioneer 6x9 set (1) RF T-400.4 (1) DC POWER ALT INSTALLED BY ROB FTW,Big3 (1) Viper 5901 Alarm + killer yorkies and chihuahas [EdgarCervantes] 4:31 pm: im in my room and out of nowere i hear bass im like oh shit sombody has bass in this city, i look out the window and its my mom bumping Gorilla Zoe
Boon
'Dirty' is probably the smoke from your MOSFETs. Post pics? Quote 10.x volts fo' life!
