BassJunkie
So after the busiest most helatious day at work, we are finishing up, while my co worker was mopping I go out to my car to warm it up, turn the key cd player kicks on everything appears normal, go to start, nothing... Batterys not dead (tried jumping it even tho I thought my voltage was good), I tapped the starter with a hammer, tightened my terminals, checked fuses. I can't sleep so I just drove the 30 miles back to work at 3 am to see if my doors were locked ( sad I know ). Im at a loss, I just can't figure out why it works flawlessly since i've owned it and it just won't do anything now. Any ideas? BassJunkie
Sounds like the solenoid if it does nothing I figured it would atleast click if it was a solenoid but I'm no mechanic at all lol. 00_XJ
Not always. If you're not getting a click than more than likely 1.)Your solenoid is bad or 2.)You're not getting enough power for the solenoid to kick in Quote 2000 Jeep Cherokee -DC Audio -Memphis -Audioque -SecondSkin -Pioneer -KnuKonceptz
audiofanaticz
yea it should click or hear someething. Easy way to check if its the solenoid is to jump the 2 big terminals on it with a screw driver, if the starter cranks, its the solenoid, if it dont. its something else, maybe the starter. You may get lucky and the solenoid maybe under the hood someplace, or its on the starter itself I had a problem a couple years back after cleaning up at the club leaving work, i goto my car and it wouldnt start, i had ign, but no click, no nothing. My floor was pretty soaked from getting into my car with snow on my feet alot, and that all melted in the car, the of coarse froze when it was cold. I ended up towing the car to the caddy garage to have them fix it. Anyone else I knew had no idea (we prayed it wasnt the starter because its in the motor and very expensive) but caddy tested and found out there was some relay or something under the carpets by the driver seat that was corroded and faulted out. There might be a same type of sensor in your car, but I got no idea.
