rookie023 Posted December 15, 2008 Author Report Posted December 15, 2008 just depends on how big of a difference im going to see. right now im running 2 memphis pr1000d's 1 on each pair of subs at 1ohm. i have stock electrical so my voltage drops alot. im working on a 300 amp alternator now and a bigger battery under the hood and possibly one in the back but i just want a big amp with true wattage that will push the hell out of those subs because im not happy with it at all. i just have hi expectations 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe 4 Kicker CVX 12's (under construction)

rookie023 Posted December 16, 2008 Author Report Posted December 16, 2008 box looks real good man and electrical smell... you sure it isnt coil smell? or anything along the lines of subs not liking new box?the reason i say i think its the amp is because when i hooked it all back up i couldnt get my front 2 speakers to work. making me think that 2 of the channels arent working. the back to only work now, but when i was riding down the road they kept cutting out, following that was the smell. i pulled over and started diggin around and the amp was hot as hell. i really dont know but im going to sound solutions tomorrow and ima let them check it out. im also going to look into the rockford power series door speakers and amps 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe 4 Kicker CVX 12's (under construction)

audiofanaticz Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Your new box looks pretty good. Think I was talking with you in another post about you wanting a new box. Before you go out and buy some big badd ass power house of an amp like a rf t40001bd or any other amp that makes a few thousand plus watts rms, Id really like to stress the point to you of upgrading your electrical system first before even buying a newer bigger amp. If you dont have the alternator, batteries, wires to power the huge amps, the huge amps will make no power, and will fry 90% of the time. and trust me, its very hard to get a new amp in your hands and not go out and hook it up til you get the needed electrical upgrades. Youll have that new big piece of gear that youll be eager to play with and go out wire it all up and beat it, and then poof. and then you have a sad look on your face.
