DRAMAQUEEN Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 ive seeen TONS of w7 setups.. i had a single 12 in a basic spec box i built doing 144 ish off music and sounding great with EVERY type of music from rap , metal to classical Most impressive one i did see was 4 12 w7s ran off 4 1000/1s in a newer chev avalanche .. 2 alts , big 3 and 2 of stingers big batts ( cant recall the name or # ) and he was doing 151.x around 36-40 hz... very impressive especially for an sQl sub ** in with the new**96 grand am GT 2- dc lv 3 12'smemphis mc1000d145.3@46 hz** out with old**96 Grand am GT12w71000/1 143.6 @ 46 hz on the new TLhttp://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=av1023dc4.jpg

Until u hear alot of GOOD w7 setups ya probably shouldnt jump on the hate wagon just yet .. and trust me there not $1000 unless u buy retail .. i can find 5 websites right now were u can get the $1000 w7 for under 5 bills , shipped... it all personal listening preference but they are nice , they do get loud and CAN sound good doing it.. IMO L7s sound like "trash" .. but hey, who am i to say what sounds good to you... if u sat in this guys truck and listened to it without seeing what he was running you wouldnt be so quick to jump the gun.. Overpriced ( to the consumer ) yes .. over rated .. no way.. ive owned fi (ssd), dd(9500), re(sx), dc(lvl 3), mtx(9500), jl(w7), ALL in 12s and NONE of them hit lows and sounded as good as my w7 did... My FAV of the bunch tho .. has to be the DC .. excellent price, quality and sound for a sub that is technically and $$ wise compared to a w1...
