Nightshade Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Yes on the 110 amp alt, and yes on the second battery. You can never ever go wrong when adding a second battery to a car. Unless it's a group 8d battery that is somewhere like 3200 CCA and a stock alt will never be able to charge something like that. As far as the Kinetik 800 goes it's not a huge battery and the stock alt will be fine on it. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz

Nightshade Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 No need for a battery isolator. All that does is allows the alt to charge one batt while the amps run off the other and then when the secondary battery needs charging it kicks the alt there and helps out. It's better to have the alt charging both at the same time because your using both at the same time. It's really like just having one large battery when you run two in parallel. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
banginAltima Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I would have to say that the alternator would have a hard time keeping up with the RF T10001bd. I say this because my old RF T1k would draw damn near 150 amp all the time. An if the alt is only putting out 110 (which is the same size on my car) it will be hard to charge the batteries if you bang it a lot plus your car is going to draw amp from the alt too. I could see your car drawing 20 amps (just guessing, maybe more) and the T1k drawing atleast a 100 amps if you listen at a normal volume. The batteries are fine, the alternator is questionable. If you build it, db's will come... NSPL World Record Holder Trunk 0-1800 watts---147.9 with 1722 clamped watts @ 40Hz(9-20-09).
