shooter69
Alright, well every time I put a new fuse in my power cable going from my battery to my amp...I blow it as soon as I power everything up. I tried disconnecting the RCA's and speaker wire from the amp, but as soon as I powered everything up again a ticking noise would come from my amp and then the inline fuse would pop about 2 seconds later. gotFI?
the inline fuse pops but not the amp fuse? seems like the power cable is touching ground somewhere. you have 1 batt or 2?
shooter69
does this mean every amp u connect or the same amp repaired?or can u blow a blown amp?lol Haha, nah man I was asking if my amp was screwed up because I'm popping inline fuses going from my battery to the amp left and right. the inline fuse pops but not the amp fuse? seems like the power cable is touching ground somewhere. you have 1 batt or 2? Just one battery. I'll go double check the amp fuse and then I'll check where my power cable is ran to look for a ground. shooter69
Amp fuse wasn't blown...but black in the middle. I hooked everything back up and tested for power without starting the car and I had power on both sides of the amp fuse. Could it be blowing them because my amp fuse is a 125A and the inline fuses I tried hooking up were 100A fuses? Chris from Mi
a 100 amp fuse should never blow when the amp is solely connected, like previously stated it is being grounded out somewhere or the amp is blown. If the fuse on the amp is black i would definitely replace it too Orion 2500D, Jbl Gto 75.4 Team Wolfpack Audio FSQ 15" d2, mb quart xover, tweets peerless 6.5 mids Alpine cda-105 optima up front Knu klm 1/
Boon
Does it blow as soon as you power the amp on but not when you just connect it? Probably blown the output stage of your amp, if the inline fuse wasn't blowing I suspect all the amp fuses would blow or the amp would blow it's power supply as well. 10.x volts fo' life! shooter69
Yeah, it's only when I power the amp up that it blows the inline. But with everything shutdown it won't pop it. So say the output stage is blown...is that something fixable if I take it to a shop or something? Nah it'll have to go to an amp repair specialist like ARC (Amp Repair Center?) or db-r.com It'll probably cost you about $160 depending what's wrong with it and what sort of amp it is. 10.x volts fo' life!
