You won't need quite as much port area when using a round port over a slot port. With 4 6" ports that comes out to be 11.3 sqin of port per cuft and that is a very good ratio to have. If you were to have 5 6" ports that would be 14.1sqin per cuft and is a bit on the high side for a round port. Decaf Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) no especially if u use aeroports 8-12sqin is fine for aero idea behind it is that in a slot or square port, the 90 degree angles cause some turbulence and "dead space" that isnt really part of the working port surface area in a round port, especially aero, turbulence is reduced something like 50% from slot/square without roundover/flares which allows for smaller port surface area since almost all of it is being used due to the flaring... thats my understandin 4 6" ports would be adequate and sweet, they are beasts... ~9.5" in diameter Edited January 13, 2009 by decafcappucino Quote

Decaf Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 maybe, to many variables for 10cuft if you do square, stick with 14-16sqin... but the port will take up more internal volume than round port stick with the 4 6" for 10cuft if aero, 5 6" if regular pvc Quote
