Nightshade
You shouldn't have to bypass an amp, but you will need the premium sound harness to be able to wire up the radio. It's not the regular black and grey plug for most Fords and Lincolns, it has a different looking square plug iirc. Look up online what harness is needed and that's all your going to need for the install. No dash kit or antenna adapter is needed for the radio install. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
Guest
my buddy's Camry has the JBL premium system installed and had a funky ass looking plug. but i found a guide online that said you had to remove 2 little plugs in the back of the dash right behind the radio, then plugged those 2 plugs into a wiring harness. i went on crutchfield and found these two harnesses. one that uses your car's external amplifier, and one that doesnt. w/o factory amp http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120705004/Rec...ss.html?tp=2977 apparently this one comes with an amp bypass for the factory amp in the trunk and you need to use the amp bypass plug (?) "failing to do so makes for distortion". with factory amp http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120705510/For...ss.html?tp=2977
pk222
ok just wondering, do I actually need the wiring harness or can I cut and crimp the wires?
Nightshade
ok just wondering, do I actually need the wiring harness or can I cut and crimp the wires? You need the harness. Otherwise you'll have to test every wire to find out which one goes where. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
pk222
that wouldn't bee too bad other than the fact that he said it has 8 speakers from the factory...
