Derrick824
We did some comparative testing between all the Sundown Audio SAZ series amplifiers today. The saz-1000d, saz-1500d, saz-2000d, and the saz-3000d. Guts of the new saz-1000d. This thing is a lil powerhouse.
Derrick824
All testing was done in my '93 Explorer Sport on a single stock Sundown NightShade 15". The weather was very cold today down in the 30s. My peak frquency was off cause of the cold and overall I was down 0.8db with all amps but this test was only for comparison purposes anyways just to show the difference on the TL from one to the other. Up first the lil saz-1000d. It's so cute! Then the saz-1500d. 1.5db gain in a direct swap. Next is the saz-2000d. Another 0.8db gain with it. Last up was the saz-3000d. 0.7db up from there. All scores were done with the vehicle sealed & the mic on the windshield.

I've been wanting one put so hard to choose between this monsters saz-1000d = 1000w @ 1ohm saz-1500d = 1500w @ 1ohm saz-2000d = 2000w @ 1ohm saz-3000d = 3000w @ 1ohm They are all slightly under-rated and will easily do an extra 100-200w over rated @ 12v. I haven't done any specific 14v or 16v testing.

Derrick824
The saz-1000d is plenty powerful especially for it's size. At first I was a lil disappointed with the 146.5 even though it's still a decent score. Then after swapping the saz-1500 in & seeing that I was 0.8db down from my normal I was pleased with it. Also it doesn't pull hardly any power at all. It didn't phase my voltage not one bit. An saz-1000d would work perfect for guys who want good power without all the electrical upgrades. Daddy_
what would you recommend for 2 12" Alpine Type X? Derrick824
what would you recommend for 2 12" Alpine Type X? If this was my setup I would use an saz-3000d because I like to have headroom. You'll also have extra power on tap if you ever want to upgrade your subs later on.
