Aaron93
First off I want to say Hello I am new to this forum but NOT new to Spl and Audio Comps. I Competed for years in several different orgs but got out of it in 07. I pick up me an 08 Scion xb over the summer and shortly after I had one of my Old sponsors call me to test some of there New Subs out. I didn't want to fool with it a first but after a few calls needless to say I have a couple of the subs to test in car! I built boxes tuned low just to see how they would do for everyday driving. And they do pretty good!!! Now for my question. Has anyone done a straight SPL set up for an 08 xb? If so do you mind sharing some of the results and, maybe box specs? I am very limited on time ,and really don't have the time to build a box and keep tweeking on it. Really just wondering if some one could give me a good starting point. Thanks! HHR Ed
I know of 2 people that have done 08 scions and many that have done the older scions. Unfortunately for the new scions the only 2 I know have done walls. Are you doing a wall? If not, their data will not help at all. I am guess it should not be had to get into the 150's because I currently have 4 8s' on 600 watts that HAS done a 144.5 in a sealed enclosure. Yes on a TL sealed on the dash. THe poor things can only get a 142 and change now. I have abused them over the last year! I tend to push thing way above there limits!! And Thnx for your replies!!! I love pushing things beyond their limits, hahaha well the best setups in the older scions tended to be subs and ports firing up in the rear cargo area. Just in a basic rectangular box with a flared round port. 2) 12s with the port in between the subs, common chamber. The loudest I have seen was just barely over 150 dB with about 10kw. If the new XB interior is similar, it may work.
