///Alpine91
Im gonna be ordering my DC lvl4 15" soon and just want some opinions on which amp i should get. Here's the amps im looking at. - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12211_...+BXi+1608D.html - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9552_H...+TXi+1508D.html Im gonna wire the sub to 1 ohm so im looking at either 1600RMS or 1500RMS. Im leaning more towards the BXi 1606D but can that lvl4 take it like a champ daily? Let me know what you guys think. Noobtastic14
I Drove Mine around with 2,800w Daily for a month or two Dont Underestimate the lvl 4 -Drew **DISCLAIMER send it nasty signal and/or put it in the wrong box and you will damage it with much less power Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. Never understood that. and im building a 4ft^3 box tuned to 32hz for it. I think that should be fine Quote 1 DC lvl 4 15" 1 Hifonics BXi 1608D 3.2ft^3 Box tuned to 32-33Hz Knu Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 Knu Karma SS 8 Gauge Speaker Wire Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X493 Head Unit (coming soon) Kenwood mids + highs (coming soon) Build
Noobtastic14
In a Nutshell- Different HUs send Different Amount of signal through the RCAs The Amp can compensate for the amount of signal with the "GAIN" knob. an amp can only produce so much clean power before it sends a clipped signal (the top of the wave will be flat instead of round) Two of the largest causes of clipping and "bad signal" is having your gain set to high and/or low voltage (notice on your gain knob- all the way counter clockwise is labled (roughly) 0.2v and all the way clockwise will be higher (6-9v) the more input voltage through the RCAs teh amp gets- the farther counter clockwise the dial needs to be) Questions? -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
