thehoe92 Posted April 11, 2010 Author Report Posted April 11, 2010 self etching primer is a key step in painting chrome because it helps the paint adhere to the chrome better but the stuff you linked is good for the regular primer to go over the self etching all those steps are if you want a really nice rattle can job if you are just doing center caps all I did for mine was.. clean off the old paint with lacquer thinner, cleaned it with lacquer thinner again, let it dry/evaporate, shoot the black on in even coats, let it dry, popped them in haha but yeah david I do, thats usually my motivation to keep going, to make it look nothing like stock I just posted this on TYF not my picture but pretty close to what mine looked like the day I bought it after I de-molded, took the emblems off and took the fender flares off most recent picture Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

UnderLoK Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 What rims are those and were they chrome before? I'm on the fence if I should just paint my stock TBSS rims or get some new ones, I just like black rims better (I don't like anything too flashy). Sorry if this was covered, the thread is almost 100 pages! lol If at first you do not succeed, you are doing it wrong! -ARSCheck out my walled TBSS build over here4 Fi Team 18s on 2 Cactus K9 DS18 doors on 2 MBQ 1Ks, Vifa pillars on a STL4.500 Pioneer X8500 6 XS Power D7500, 1 3400S Second Skin 2 270a Mechman Alts
PUNKYOU007 Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 He cutout body bushings. Lol Did that affect the ride? Was it as simple as that, just removing the bushings between the frame and the body? Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C.
