just curious... but how are you getting 170? are they that under rated?

Rated Power

50W x 4 @ 4-Ohms RMS

100W x 4 @ 2-Ohms RMS

200W x 4 @ 1-Ohm RMS

200W x 2 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS

400W x 2 @ 2-Ohms bridged RMS

massively under rated!

its joe's t800.4 so he already has the birth sheet and knows what kind of power it puts out

got my DC Power 270sp today :)

start it up idle at 14.6 instead of 14.1...

doesn't seem high enough so I decided to throw an MLA on there now I'm sitting at 15.1 :D

I'll wait for a cold start in the morning.

haven't done to many tests voltage wise besides driving

its definitely louder more aggressive and lows are more defined because there is some power pushing them.

I don't drop below 14.4 if my battery is nice and fresh I rarely saw a 13.9

at idle is a different story I am a little disappointed that it is still dropping into 11.9-12.2 when it is supposed to do 180~amps at idle

it will jump right back up whenever there is a tiny break in the bass but I'm guessing just get a bigger battery and I should be good

can't wait to drive to Gary's house in West Sac so I can charge the batteries properly they have been starving ever since I got my system

pictures tomorrow! guaranteed

I say you go ahead with some Anzo (USA) Projectors. Seem pretty reliable to me, and I'll be getting some for my 2008 Silverado.

BTW, You truck is sick! are you gonna get a drop any time after projectors, and stuff?

i would buy from stylin trucks before i bought off ebay. I had a problem with something i ordered from them getting delivered to the wrong house and they sent me another set QUICK

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

woke up to this haha...

back to the build...

I wasn't sure where to mount the amp since I know it isn't good to put it on the back of the box where it would have been the most efficient for running wires and what not so I decided on putting it underneath the seat. I saw Steve's build on his Tahoe and wanted to do the same thing where you cut a piece of MDF to contour around the seat brace and then mount the amp to the board but I didn't have enough and it just doesn't seem like there is enough airflow to it like that.

So eventually I decided to take about a 2" long piece of PVC and let the amplifier float about the seat brace and just screw the amp with long enough screws to the frame.

I got lucky and two of the seat braces were perfect size away from each other so I only had to screw twice and bolt the other two to the brace.

...where to mount the remote.

Do like everyone on YouTube; let it just hang around - too sloppy.

Mount it in between the seat and the center console - ends up ruining the upholstery

Copy Chevy and mount another switch on the side of the seat because it already has enough room to get your hand too it and it is out of the way - I think we will go with this one.

and the finished product...

last one for the night...

running the wire across the engine bay to the battery terminal.

you can pick these up at Home Depot.

they work great.

thats it for now.

all thats really left is to mount the subwoofer and connect the wire to all the terminals and put the fuses in.
