eliassami5 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 So i wanted to fiberglass a pair of MB Quartz components in each of my front doors and ive been getting ideas from diff builds here on the site. Most everybody puts their tweeters right next to their mid bass driver and then angle it up at the driver/passenger. So i went to get advise from my coworker (used to compete in sq comps back in the day, but he hasnt been up to date with today's stuff) and he said that i wont be able to hear the tweeters since the legs will be blocking them and that they have a 30 degree disbursement angle so they have to be pretty much aimed at the head of the driver/passenger for them to be able to be heard clearly. So he suggested i should put them up in the corner of the door near my A pillar and then it will sound better. In the past his advice wasn't that great so i wanted to clear this up. And also i was planning on running 2 6 1/2 component setts in each door but im trying to do this on a budget and was thinking of one component set in each door along with one 6 1/2 coax in each door. Will there be probs with that? or should i just stick with the 2 comps in each door? 91' Jeep Cherokee - The Heep Just Empty Every Pocket 96' Volvo 960 - The B◘x [sPL_4_U] HiFonics - Alpine Pioneer - Clarion Infinity - Kicker KnuKonceptz
EricM9104 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Really, it's up to you. As for tweeter and midbass position, "partially" set up the midbass and tweeter on the partially done door pods... and figure out what your ears like. kentb Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 if you are gonna place the tweeters on the stock door location i won't suggest doing that. most SQ builds that i see has their midrange and tweets on the a pillars and midbass on their kick New System 2 10" Fi SSD, Sundown 1500d Build I build and design enclosures(cheap price), PM ME Kicker L7 Navigator(plexiglass, fiberglass, aeroport) Build BTL 18" Escalade(plexiglass, battery tray) Build http://www.kentbaudio.com Old System
