Level 4 Or 4xl Setup

Recommended Posts

I have changed my mind and will be be going with the DC Level4's instead of the Pioneer Champion Series Pro's. I think this is a smart upgrade. I will either be going with 2 Lvl4 12's with a SAE-1000d on each or 1 15 level 4xl and strap the two SAE-1000d's (book says 1800watts strapped). What do you guys thing, will there be much of a change from one to the other. My goal is to get the most out of the amps. Of course what ever way I go the box will be ported.

Again thanks for the info Rusty.

this is 100% true, i just got rid of my 1 big 15 for two smaller 12's and its WAYYYY louder

plus for daily the 2 subs=more coil =more cooling

plus i hear the XL's love power, i talked to a dealer he said they take 2.5-3kw no problem if done right so i think regular lvl 4's will be great for you

Well the level 4 12's have a rms of 1000watts, where the level 4 xl's have a rms of 1500. My amps are only 1000 watts each, so I would assume I would want a sub that is around that wattage and not above it. If my amp dose not put out the RMS of the sub it would not make sense to go that route correct? I am asking this because I am not sure here. I don't want to get subs that my amps will not push.

The level 4s take a helluva lot of power. The 2 sae 1000ds would push one XL. As a DD setup I too would go with 2 12s

I'd hit that so fucking hard whoever pulled me out would be King of England.

Lol... looks like we were on the same page. Car-B-Ques suck.

ya, tires and paint burning make the marshmallows taste funny.

you can always upgrade amps later in the game with the XLs, but it will be more pricey to upgrade subs later in the future *i have both 2 lvl 4 15s with lvl 5 coils and 2 lvl 4XL 15s, and the XLs are just crazy louder* i just say get better, break them in with 1000 rms then upgrade in the future !
