Deadening On Panels And Body?

Instead of running two layers on the body of the car.. would there be any difference by putting a layer on the body and putting a layer on the panels? Just curious to what you guys think/know.

well unless you have some large flat interior panels it isnt gonna help alot. the body panels move more due to the large spans of flat areas. Now adding some to the interior panels may cut down on some buzz issues from pieces rubbing together but not much unless you have some direct interior to body issues. typically they are snapped on pretty tight tho.

Yeah as old as my car is (1983) there are some gap issues as it isnt as tight as a fit as it should be thats why i was asking about the interior panels

I would suggest using some dense foam sheets and gluing them in place then replacing the panels

so take the dense foam and put it on the interior panels then simply reinstall the interior panels?

Have you ever used the Raamat ensolite foam padding?

I'm adding a layer of it under my front carpeting on top of the edead.

It could be glued to plastic panels too I guess.

Any thoughts?

yes it could but since this isnt a sound issue (well kinda) the cheaper dense faom padding should do the trick nicely. I like to try and save a few bucks here and there if possible and this will definately save monie cause the "professional" kits can get up there. Yes just glue the foam to the interior panels and snap the plastic back on. Some areas might need 2 layers to make the fit tighter, some will just need one.

Cool i appreciate your help bro. Maybe doing this and a layer or two will make the exhaust quieter on the inside and increase my sounds nice

Anybody ever think of using rhino lining as a sound deadener ?

Hmm cant say I have. Right now my main focus is the trunk well of the hatch. once the weather is nice and not so humid i'll be replacing my carpet and putting down some kind of deadener on the floor .. and POR-15 rust protectant.
