Hifonics Amp Going Into Protect On Hypnotize

So im playing Young Jeezy's Hypnotized cuz it just randomly came up and i haven't heard it in a while. So i turn my bass knob to 100% and set my volume to 75% and wait for the bass to hit, the first bass note hits (39hz) and all is good...but then right before the second bass note hits (35hz) the amp goes into protect. The amp has never done this before and im only running it at 4 ohms, the voltage is a steady 14 and the amp was pretty cold, like (60ish degrees Fahrenheit). It dosent protect on any other hard hitting bass song cept this one, so if anyone knows what the problem could be or has an idea of what kind of protect mode it's going in (like temp protect, or low volt protect, etc.) would be much preciated. Thx

Where are you checking the voltage? Its possible you have epic voltage drop across your cable.... how much power are you pulling and how big is your power wire? Also check your ground is good, but the biggest thing is just check the voltage across your amp's power terminals when that note hits.

im positive its not my voltage cuz im only running 450 watts and the lowest ive ever seen it drop to is 13.5 volts, im running 4 gauge power/ground wires.

i had the same problem with a maxximus but the main reason the it went into protect mode was because of the voltage and the frequency was set way too high. thats what i was told by the hifonics repair man.

it went into protect mode 3 to 6 times before it stayed there...

what do you mean by the frequency and voltage was set too high?

the low pass is set at ~100hz and the subsonic is at ~30hz, bass boost is off, and gains are set right. Again, it plays perfectly fine on any other heavy bass song with all the same settings (100% bass knob, 75% volume) except for Young Jeezy's hypnotized.

I was thinking it might be a clipped signal to.

The track itself may have a higher gain than normal. Gota love mp3s.

Download 'audacity' and check for clipping also :)

already did that and thats how i could tell you at what hz the track peaks at.

But would a clipped signal cause an amp to go into protect?

This is about as far as the bars go, they dont go into the red zone
