I know the youtube video demonstrating the "towel trick" works, but thats only to get a few extra days from your xbox before sending it in.

I thought MS themselves gave you like 3 years RROD protection, so why not send it in?

theres actually 2 types of 360's, and one is more prone to the RROD than the other don't know why, but i had one when they first come out it was type "a" it got the rrod about a year later, then i went and bought the type "b" read all the serial numbers at gamestop till I found the type "b" system. Ive had this type "b" for 3 years and not one problem out of it.

Well they used to take your xbox and add some added heat sinks inside to it or something, but that was too costly.

Now they just replace it with a newer one.

Don't know what the penny trick is, but I assume its the same theory. Just dissipating more heat.
