IAMBUMP Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 was told to never put tweeters below the mids?? If you've been doing something for 20 years, does that mean what you do it right??? __________________________________ Want: 2x Phoenix Gold RSD65CS Comp Amp Undecided AA Havoc AQ 1200 knu wiring set scew lugs for all connections Alpine IDA-X303 2v preout --this goes under the seat. buddlydudly8989 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 i would go with the second one ... just looks better..as for the tweets before mids i havnt heard alot about that so idk.
roscoe1129 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Take some thing and stick the speakers to your existing door if you can, both ways and decide which you like better. As far as what ppl say about sticking the tweet below, thats generally a SQ rule but meh ive never really noticed a huge difference....Ive seen it done both ways but usually in kick pods. Some people need a sympathetic pat... on the head...with my hammer Scientia est Vox "In Nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti" DONT BE AFRAID TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!! SMD SUPER BUYER/SELLER

Decaf Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 i like the 2nd one, should have better imaging, and look better
IAMBUMP Posted February 17, 2009 Author Report Posted February 17, 2009 cool, obviously these are just sketches, the actual build would have the wood a 1/4 inch out fromt he speaer s egs sI could glass it, and wrap it in tweed. If you've been doing something for 20 years, does that mean what you do it right??? __________________________________ Want: 2x Phoenix Gold RSD65CS Comp Amp Undecided AA Havoc AQ 1200 knu wiring set scew lugs for all connections Alpine IDA-X303 2v preout --this goes under the seat. thehoe92 Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 the first one looks better... more like a swoop. but I am almost certain the second one is better for imaging. I read on the Rockford Fosgate components that you should have the tweets 2" away from the mids. If you go farther it has to be 7" minimum farther. 2" ~ 7" is a no good on sound quality. generally the way I see it is the way imaging is, is the way you place the speakers. tweets = high mids = mids subs = lows Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple
