ptcary Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Any recommendations? Low to moderate priced? ...so I am getting started on my doors and will need at least 2 more channels of amplification. I would like to run a 6x50 watt amp. ...either that or I just purchase a two channel amp to go with my current 4 channel. Quote you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. ptcary Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) any amps you have in mind? I would just buy another 2 channel. No; I originally wanted to get the AQ 4 channel amp to replace my Crunch 4 channel (AQ just to match my new sub amp). I can get a small Crunch two channel amp, or use one of my left over 550w Crunch amps, but I don't really need 225watts going to each door (but then again could wire for 8 ohms and cut that power down). If 225w x2 at 4 ohms can I expect to see ~112 x2 rms at 8 ohms? That would actually be perfect! I kinda like the simplicity of a 2 amplifier system. I know most 6 channel amps are bridged for a sub in single amp SQ systems. Remember the old a/d/s ph615 (??) I think it was a 6 channel amp straight out 50x6. Bills Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 ik JLaudio makes a 6ch amp. i think its 350, but its the only 6ch i've seen. i know there are others out there, but i've never seen any others. i'm gonna need 6 channels for my ride come summer, and i'm just gonna do a 4ch for the smaller speakers in dash and back doors. and then a strong 2ch for my front doors. kingsuv Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Not many = 6 ch amps anymore these days. And the ones out there aren't very powerful. What about 2 4ch amps? Then you eithe have 2 extra or maybe use them as a center ch later. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.

King, is that how your F-250 is run with the 2 Alpine amps? Edited February 27, 2009 by ptcary Quote PTCary 2003 SMD PT Cruiser 2011 Honda CBR 250R 2010 Mazda 3i Sport MY BUILD LOG
kingsuv Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Or you can be like me and run 4 - 4 ch amps But why in the hell would one need that many channels..... I guess we will have to wait and see. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes.
