You just need to get a 1 ohm stable amp. If you can afford a 500 at 2ohm amp you don't have an excuse to not beable to afford a 500 watt 1 ohm stable amp. The new series you speak of is a cheaper, more affordable RF amp - it wont take much more to get you into something a little more your speed. Well considering that they are below the punch amps and the punch is under the power series. I don't know. I would say they probbly have sound quailty and do rated power at 14.4 volts but they are at the bottom of RF's line. I have a funny feeling that this line of products is probbly closer to the amps and subs you will find from the auto manufactures that use Rockford Fosgate products in their cars. Not terrible stuff but not good stuff either. I do not know if anything I said is fact just speculation.
